ToggleIt’s clear that the world is full of many different kinds of people. People are unique in their size, shape, ethnicity, religion, interests, and more. Some love reading, while others don’t; some love sports, while others don’t. Among all this diversity, there are many unique groups based on genetics. We’ve said ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ so often that it’s become almost a cliché.
There is ample evidence supporting these two concepts regarding our initial reactions to people’s appearances. Upon meeting individuals with uniquey physical features, individuals tend to react either favorably or unfavorably based on their perceptions of specific traits like eye color or height. We tend to form judgments about individuals based on their appearance right from the outset, even if certain aspects of their looks are not immediately apparent.
